Kigwandi Coffee Factory is a esteemed washing station located in Tetu Sub-County, Nyeri near the base of Mt. Kenya. It is one of seven factories under Mutheka F.C.S. established in 2004. Kigwandi Factory serves over 800 smallholder farmers.
It's no surprise to those of you who read these descriptors frequently that the holy combo of fertile soil, healthy seasonal rainfall, and higher altitudes set the scene perfectly for coffees with bright acidity, fruity characteristics and big body. Cool days, and lower temps at night allow for the coffee to mature slower, producing dense and hard beans brimming with the acidity and character we love in Kenyan coffee.
This is our second Peaberry of the year and third Kenyan. We loved Kii AA and Konyu PB so much that we felt it was right to strike again while the iron was smoking with this year's crop.
