Muki Fruity (Anaerobic Natural, Uganda)
Muki Fruity (Anaerobic Natural, Uganda)
This lot comes from Eastern Uganda, near Mt. Elgon, and is sourced through Norman Mukuru at The Coffee Yard. The site serves as a key hub for receiving and drying coffee from surrounding areas including Sironko, Mbale, and Bulambuli.
The Coffee Yard is in its second year of partnership with The Coffee Gardens, a long-standing partner of Falcon Coffees.
This lot is a Drugar (DRied UGandan Arabica). It’s a common natural process found in Uganda – typically in the Rwenzori region out West. This process is characterised by cherries sun-dried whole, often smallholder-produced on patios, tarps or on the ground and then transported to processing centres where they’re all mixed together. Visually yu Contrasting with the traditional naturals in which cherry is collected and processed altogether, yielding greater standardisation, higher quality and consistency. That said, Drugars are getting pretty good and they carry a unique fruit-driven weightier profile that have made them popular blend components.
This one is a whopper a bold, papaya, lime cordial and spicy
It shines as a punchy espresso, big-bodied, fruit-driven, and just a little boozy.
