San Francisco (Costa Rica, Natural)

San Francisco (Costa Rica, Natural)

We’ve been drinking this coffee for a number of years now and it’s always a standout from the Costa Rican lots we sample.

The San Francisco community is a 30 minute drive from the central processing point in Coope Tarrazú and is made up of over 70 producers that deliver to the community lot. Due to recent changes in climate, the harvest, which usually begins at beginning of December, commences a month earlier. With sudden storms, hail and downpours expected as a result of climate change, more farmers are selling their cherry for washed processing, as naturals and honeys run the risk of being ruined by these weather events.

San Fran this year is tasting lovely, either as a warming festive brew or as a versatile rich espresso. We are enjoying flavours of apricot jam, butterscotch, tropicals and velvety texture.
